The Pearl of Wisdom Campaign to Prevent Cervical Cancer was launched by the European Cervical Cancer Association (ECCA), together with its members across Europe and its partners in the United States as a coordinated international effort to raise awareness of cervical cancer and how it can be prevented. Although each organisation has its own priority areas, we have come together under the banner of the Pearl of Wisdom Campaign to present a united front in the battle against cervical cancer in order to maximise our ability to reach our target audiences. In order to achieve this, all partners promote the Pearl of Wisdom as the symbol for cervical cancer prevention to increase public recognition of the campaign in the same way the pink ribbon serves the breast cancer campaign. In addition, all campaign partners distribute a core set of simple, consistent key messages about cervical cancer to ensure our collective voices effectively reach women.
